Wetsuits for water sports
A wetsuit is essential equipment for anyone involved in water sports – surfing, wakeboarding, kiteboarding and SUP. A wetsuit provides both comfort and protection in different weather and water conditions, allowing you to fully enjoy water activities.
Comfort and Protection
The wetsuits are made of neoprene, a flexible and durable material that provides thermal insulation and wind protection. This is especially important in colder water conditions when maintaining body temperature is critical. The suits are produced in different thicknesses to adapt to different temperature conditions. For example, thinner wetsuits are suitable for warm water, while thicker wetsuits are suitable for colder conditions.
Types of wetsuits
- Full Wetsuits: provide maximum warmth and protection by covering the entire body.
- Shorties: perfect for warmer water, they offer freedom of movement and comfort.
How to choose the right wetsuit?
When choosing a wetsuit, it is important to consider:
- Thickness: thicker wetsuits (4-6mm) are suitable for colder conditions, while thinner wetsuits (2-3mm) are suitable for warmer conditions.
- Material: Neoprene is the most popular material for flexibility and heat retention. The best neoprene materials today are made from limestone and supplemented with different types of linings for extra warmth and outer layers for wind protection.
Size and cut: the wetsuit should fit snugly to effectively retain heat and ensure that as little water as possible enters the suit. Wetsuits come not only in different sizes but also in different cuts, so it is advisable to try on different models to see which fits best. Please note that wetsuits do stretch slightly when wet.
